Based on the BRAND NEW, not previously owned, or refurbished HP Pavilion DV9700 that I bought, I would not buy a refurbished one. I have had numerous problems with mine.

One day it just shut off and I couldn't get it to start again for months. I called customer support and they did not help. I would turn it on and it would sound like it was going to start the power button would light up for a minute and then it would shut off. Sometimes it would start but the monitor would not work. Now it only starts if I hold down the Escape key after I hit the power button. If I close the laptop, it's hard telling when and if it might start again. The USB ports only work on the left side of my laptop, after about a year the right side stopped working. It gets extremely hot, you really need to have a cooling fan underneath it. One of the hinges to the monitor has over time broke, now if my laptop gets closed the monitor literally comes apart.



Basically I am not impressed with the brand new model and would not consider buying a refurbished model. I do however own an HP Netbook that I have not had any problems with.

DO Not buy this product. Its look cheap in price, but doesnt help.

It only will work for few days. I tell you why. As you see there are 2 parts in this charger. And, this charger is generic. not by HP or Compaq. Since, this charger is generic. it does not pass the enough watts in your PC. The charger might say 1.5V.(Watts) but the watts fluctuate and that might damage your laptop. Bottom line is the watts fluctuate in this generic charger and it does not supply the enough watts to your laptop and in few days your charger will not work or it will damage your laptop.

Hope this review works for you. I bought one and charger stop working after few days. I showed it to my friend who is in Electrical Engineer. He told me why does it happened. don't go with the price. Spend some more money and get the better one.

Look, I get that it's a cheap third-party replacement for the brand-named (and far more expensive) HP version, but it should at least work for a few days. This arrived, was plugged in a single time, and the lead that plugs into the computer literally FELL OUT. I don't mean fell out of the computer, I mean it fell out of the cord leading from the AC adapter. Basically it arrived DOA, and even though it was cheap I'm still sending it back for a refund because it's the principal of the thing. I'm wondering how much shoddy product one company can foist on an unsuspecting public before Amazon refuses to list them anymore? Bottom line, do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere... even if you have to spend a little more.

After having coffee splashed on my keyboard I was hopefull this would be the only thing wrong; it was. The keyboard was exactly as described with quick shipping. A few screws removed and viola popped in the new keyboard and crossed my fingers. What an easy fix to what could've been a costly repair (HP quoted me $398.00).
